Many times after a site is redesign, sites might have a drop in organic traffic. Here are some reasons why your organic traffic might sink.
Did your URL’s change? If your URL’s have recently changed Google spiders might be going to pages that are on longer there. According to Google the best way to fix URL changes is sitemaps, 301 redirects and custom 404. Are you being penalized? Have you being signing up to link campaigns, duplicating content or hiding text or links? If you think you are, or know by signing up for Google webmaster tools, just remove the offending content. Are you in a sandbox? Sometimes after a redesign Google might put you in a holding area, known as the sandbox effect, although it is more common for new sites. There is no universal sandbox, so it’s difficult to know how long your site is sandboxed. Only thing to do is wait it out.
